Is TracSpend really free?
Yes, completely free. No hidden fees, no premium tier, no ads, no in-app purchases. Every feature is available to every user.
Do I need to create an account?
No account needed. No email, no password, no sign-up. Just download and start using it immediately.
Does TracSpend collect my data?
No. TracSpend collects zero data. Everything you enter — transactions, bank accounts, goals, loans — is stored locally on your device only. We have no servers and no access to your information.
Does the app need internet?
No. TracSpend works 100% offline. The only exception is the optional AI assistant, which requires a Google Gemini API key you provide yourself. Without it, the app is fully offline.
Which currencies are supported?
INR (₹), USD ($), EUR (€), GBP (£), JPY (¥), AUD (A$), CAD (C$), and AED (د.إ). You can set your base currency during onboarding and change it anytime in Settings.
How do I back up my data?
Go to Settings → Export Data to save an Excel (.xlsx) file of all your transactions to your device. Store it in your cloud drive or email it to yourself as a backup.
What happens if I uninstall the app?
Since data is stored locally, uninstalling the app removes your data. Export your data first if you want to keep it.
Can I track loans and EMIs?
Yes. Add loans with outstanding balance, interest rate, and EMI amount. The app sends you a local notification 2 days before each EMI is due.
Can I track insurance policies?
Yes. TracSpend has a dedicated Insurance section where you can track health, life, vehicle, home, and travel insurance with premium amounts and renewal dates.
What is the AI assistant?
An optional feature powered by Google Gemini that gives you personalised finance tips based on your spending patterns. It requires a free API key from Google AI Studio. Without a key, it shows generic tips only.
Can I use multiple bank accounts?
Yes. Add unlimited bank accounts, credit cards, and wallets. Track balances across all of them and see your total net worth in one place.
Is there a web or desktop version?
Currently TracSpend is available on iOS and Android only. A web version is on our roadmap.
